Erin Strong, OTR/L is a board certified and registered Occupational Therapist, founder, and co-owner of Collective Therapy. She completed her masters degree in Occupational Therapy from East Carolina University, and her undergraduate degree from Appalachian State University in Communication Disorders. She's currently licensed in North Carolina and has clinical experience with inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation, and in continuing care retirement community (CCRC) setting.
Erin excels at creating a close relationship with her patients by blending fun, creativity, and meaningful activities to facilitate growth, healing, and overall improved quality of life. Erin believes that a patient's personal goals should always come first and she facilitates improvement in elder care through compassion and implementation of research-based practice. She's known to think outside the box, exploring all avenues in order to create the best outcome.
Erin has a passion for assisting individuals across the lifespan to stay independent and safe in their homes. She has extensive training and experience in home/environmental modifications as well as assessments/modifications in wheelchairs, positioning, and functional mobility devices. She's currently working toward her digital badge and specialization in environmental modifications to further her professional development and personal interests. Erin is also a Carfit technician and event coordinator, which is a program that keeps adults safe and functional in their vehicles.
Erin believes in the importance of living a balanced lifestyle in mind, body, and spirit. In Erin’s spare time, you can find her playing and organizing outdoor volleyball doubles, camping/hiking with friends, traveling, exercising, practicing hot yoga, and even snowboarding in the winter. You may also find her curled up in her garden chair, writing, reading, and attempting to develop a green thumb. In addition, she is also a Reiki level II practitioner, and is authoring a book about personal growth and healing from a holistic perspective.
